Christmas is nearly here!
We all know that Christmas is a time for a little over-indulging, relaxing, and the gifting of presents. These days, those presents are also likely to be for pets too! From Santa hats, costumes, toys, balls, and treats, to Aunty Beryl slipping Teddy a treat under the table!
Whilst Christmas can be fun with pets, we should also help pet owners understand what they should and shouldn’t do, to make sure their pets are kept safe.
You will likely have a leaflet that you can hand out which advises clients what foods are poisonous to pets, and it may be a good idea to send a Christmas greetings SMS or email with a reminder of these, along with other ways to protect pets during Christmas. The festive season can bring its own threats to the wellbeing of our pets and the RSPCA has produced a helpful guide to keeping pets safe, which may be helpful to your clients.
Most pet owners know about the obvious things to be aware of, such as chocolate, grapes, some plants etc. but many of us don’t have the complete knowledge we need to keep our beloved pets safe and healthy. This time of year, especially, help from our vets could be very important.
A report, published by Direct Line Group found that these are the biggest dangers to cats and dogs.
